Photographer’s Note

This photograph was taken on a day trip to Waterfall Gully 34°57′36″S 138°40′34″E ,a popular daytrekking destination for tourists and bushwalkers in the outer suburbs of Adelaide. Nestled into the foothills bounding Adelaide and below Clealand National Park, Waterfall Gully maintains a moister microclimate than surrounding areas, largely as a result of the limited direct sunlight that enters the gully, and the waterfall itself which feeds First Creek.
At this time of year the waterfall often flows freely. During the drier months it is common for the waterfall to stop completely

This is the first photograph I have submitted to trekearth where I have measured white balance before taking the image. Another small progression in my learning to use my camera effectively.
