Photographer’s Note

On a day when the rear end fell out of the international stock markets, I took a drive down to my local beach to commune with my soul mate - the ocean!
Hard to believe we were in the midst of our West Australian winter, eh?
Burns Beach, on Perth's northern shores. (See also the 'Large Version').

Hello Jeff,
is this the Australian winter?? Here in England not even the Summer is like what you are showing us today! The view is simply stunning, with those fat fluffy clouds making the view even more beautiful. The rocks in the fg with the wave shattering on it is beautiful is an important focal point and help to lead the eye to discover the vastity of the horizon and the beauty of the ocean. Really good shot!

Is this winter....man it look like a European summer ;-)
The water that splash against the rocks is great timing, but look at those clouds...amazing. I like clouds, we have plenty of them here, but everytime i am lyric in seeing the big fat ones. This one is huge, very impressive, just as the rest of your picture in excellent exposure with very crisp and bright colours...i love it..!!!

Hello Jeff, very excellent textures seen on the clouds and that water in this shot. It is very sharp throughout. The contrasts too are very good, especially seen in those clouds with that great blue sky. It's well composed with a nice counter to the clouds seen in the rock on the bottom left. Control of your highlights in this shot is perfect. Very excellent control of your light. Large post is awesome.

Well,this is what I call winter and I think you suffer a lot during those long,bad months:)
What an amazing shot! I hope you don`t mind, but this photo is about two levels above what you did so far and looking at your latest photos,you improved tremendously.
Superb quality,incredible clarity and inspired composition...

What a difference in winter conditions! I really like this view because of the clouds. They seem like an explosion above the beautiful waters. Excellent composition with very good details and colours. I can see why you love the sea so much. This place is magical. Thanks Jeff.
