[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi,

Another picture, it's the second destination of our trip, in the Pinnacles Desert!!! A lot of stones are there, in the sand, it's amazing to be there during the sunset... WAHOUUUUU!!! :o) This a first shoot before the sunset, the sky was really without clouds, so I used a lot the polarised filter!!! :o) How I like!!!

See you,

Fabien.

Hi Fabien,
How I love shots of my country, and this one is wonderful. The light and composition work so well in this shot. For me I think the pola is just a bit too srtong, however it is a good effect, that dark shadow in the bottom right of frame is distracting from otherwise a brilliant photo.
Cheers
Peter

Attractive landscape,Good composition and well arragement of color,Well placed of subject in foreground and intresting background.Good work,TFS.

Hi Fabien,

You put together a wonderful composition here. The balance is about perfect with the prominent tree off-center and another in the distance. The lines of the wind-blown sand lead nicely from the lower left into the scene as do those shadows. The resulting image shows a great sense of depth.

The wide angle lens is great for this type image but it also has some drawbacks with regards to filters - especially the circular polarizer. Two things have happened here. First the polarization is too strong resulting in that distracting unevenly darkened bit in the upper left corner. To mitigate you simply dial down the polarizer during image capture until you find a compromise. Polarization is great but like any good thing it can be overdone. The second issue is the vignetting in the lower right corner caused by tilting the camera with the wide angle lens and polarizer. You can really only recover from that by increasing focal length and checking DOF preview during the shot or by getting rid of it in post-processing.

Cheers!

WOW, a very nice composition here. Interesting landscape with trees, little greens and nice rok formations due too wind erosion. The colors are great, the blues and browns are nicely combined with each other. By the way, the dark blue spot on the upper left corner adds another level to this photo and i really liked it!Great POV and nice framing. Well done and well captured!

all the best!
