Photographer’s Note

Sydney is a lovely city surrounded by beautiful countryside and beaches. On Sunday the city is full of Sydneysiders taking advantage of the sunny weather to take family trips. One of the most popular excursions to to take the ferry to Manley beach. This is one of the beaches on the west headland of Sydney Harbour. It has lots of amusements as well as lovely beaches and there restaurants too, in which to enjoy a day out. The name 'Manley' was given to the area by Arthur Phillips, the first governor of New South Wales, because the aborigine tribe that lived there were of very manly appearance,(I assume that this was only the men). This is a typical Sydney family off on the ferry for a Sunday afternoon on Manley beach.
