Photographer’s Note

Sydney is a lovely city surrounded by beautiful countryside and beaches. On Sunday the city is full of Sydneysiders taking advantage of the sunny weather to take family trips. One of the most popular excursions to to take the ferry to Manley beach. This is one of the beaches on the west headland of Sydney Harbour.It has lots of amusements as well as lovely beaches and there restaurants too, in which to enjoy a day out. The name 'Manley' was given to the area by Arthur Phillips, the first governor of New South Wales, because the aborigine tribe that lived there were of very manly appearance,(I assume that this was only the men). This is a typical Sydney family off on the ferry for a Sunday afternoon on Manley beach.

A charming capture of this family group in their Sunday best. I like the close framing and the view of the other trippers through the window behind. Excellent colours and clarity.

Hello Kevin,

These family give a very good impression certainly the mother with the smile.
Father try not to look in the camera, and the daugther enjoy of her fruit juice.

And you were flying over the water to make this shot, Kevin...(just kidding :-) Good family portrait, each one of them in a diferent attitude - He's the relaxed papa and she's the stressed mama... What I really like is the background that gives a strange sense of depth, with people seen at a far distance, in bettween lots of window framings. I would like to see the green bars at FG straighted, but I know it's problably not possible.
