Photographer’s Note

With the advent of winter in the southern hemisphere, these Crimson Rosellas can be found literally almost everywhere. They can be seen in the backyard and here - the Kinglake National Park which is about 40mins north east of Melbourne CBD. These native birds are well acquainted with visitors whose mere presence is enough to lure them to within a few metres away, hoping to be fed.

On this occasion, they are given a share of the potato chips, and they even dare to get it straight from the mouth while another is waiting for his turn with sharp claws firmly gripped onto the slippery head. Moments later, his ear was mistakenly pecked and twisted as a piece of potato chips!

A close up view of the bird is also posted in the Workshop. Hope you like it.
