Photographer’s Note

Until now, I seldom post portrait on TE. But I find this subject quite irresistable and decided to give it a try with my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D which has given me focusing problem on numerous occassions. This model had just finished dressing up for some commercial advertisement shots and her photographer was not far away taking shots of another model. I had no control on the choice of BG since this shot is out of her courtesy, moments before her actual shooting session begins.

On this occassion, I was particularly delighted to meet a very kind TE friend in Melbourne. I believe he has taken shots of the same subject, but he insists I had a go on posting first before him. So I thank him for the privilege.

The original of this posting is almost a full body shot. For this posting I decided to crop it as a half body. F/2.8 was chosen as an experiment since f/1.4 has an extremely shallow DOF in which the ears could be blurred if the eyes are in focus.

Thanks for viewing and all critiques are appreciated.

Regards
Alfred
