[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Out in parkland beside the Yarra river a couple of days ago I noticed a type of parrot that I hadn't seen before. After consulting all the Australian bird identification information I could find, its identity was still a mystery.

So I googled "green parrot red beak".

This was the first result!

No doubt about it, she was another invader. An Indian Ringneck Parrot, probably escaped from her cage and now taking up residence in boxes attached to trees by the local council to provide nesting sites for native birds...

This is an absolutely beautiful picture. It is not only beautiful because of the subject, but also the composure. The colors are excellent, the subject is sharp and clear, and I can't pull my eyes away from it. :) I like that it has the appearance of a portrait.

Steve a lovely capture of a bird I have never seen before! I love it's pale green and your DOF, clarity and composition are all good! well done ..mark :)
