Photographer’s Note
The last in my current theme 'Under an Australian sky': this shot was taken earler on the same morning as post #3, and is my 1st 'semi night shot' with the D200 and Tokina 12-24 lens combo - your honest critiques are most welcome.
Post processing in CS3 and Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0, from a cropped & resized RAW image. (See also 'Large Version')

Hi Jeff,
Now this is really well done. This would make a great print. THe sky is fabulous as is your handling of the exposure on the cityscape itself. I so want to visit Western Australia and you and Matthew Watt are really fueling the fire.
What processing did you do using Nik ColorEfex Pro?
Cheers!

Hi Jeff,
Your first and hopefully not your last!! Some very good post processing done here when looking at the bigger picture. What a sharpness, especially on the edges. So nicely contrasted without getting any artifacts of the sharpening. Just read the note to Bob. Good work. Honest critique? Keep on doing what you did here, perhaps take the DoF more towards the sweet spot of your lense; f/12 - f/16. The widest, without getting soft corners.
Greetings!
Dennis

Superbe pause longue, excellente netteté et non moins excellent cadrage. Je ne suis fan des photos urbaines mais là, j'avoue que c'est du beau travail

This is a wonderful picture. In the Large Version I can even see a star (or a planet). You just used the right time of the day, when the sky is not dark and the lights of the city are on, to delineate the silhouettes of the buildings in the city. Perhaps another interesting effect can be achieved if you reduce the f/number and shoot for a longer exposure. Just an idea.
Very well done.

Jeff,
This is a great large post with outstanding sharpness and DOF. Your managed to catch the early blue hour perfectly, blending the natural and artificial lighting to create a great photo. Your composition is great with the highway intersection drawing the eye into the shot.

Hi Jeff,
A very fine series, and looks to me the D200 is doing a great job for you. Is this a recent acquisition and if so, how are you finding it seeing as you also shoot a D80. Did you consider the new D300? TFS. Gerald

Hello Jeff,
Tricky shot executed very well. The colors are balanced perfectly. The PoV is great and the luminosity beautiful.
Congratulations.

hello Jeff,
the small version doesn't do justice to this excellent photo, it has to be a large print. superb quality here, and I like a lot how you used the dark silhouettes of the bushes in the foreground to add depth to the scene. great work, my compliments.
with kind regards,
Kristine
