Photographer’s Note
This is the view in front of Glen Helen Lodge (approx. 110km west of Alice Springs). It was taken in the morning and a very cold wind was blowing which explains the clear light.

Hello Nikki,
Beautiful and eye-catching colour palette!
The colours combine well in this attractive landscape image, and I like the distinct layers in the composition...
The strong blue sky makes a great topping!

Wow, the colour in this is amazing! Such a contrast between the red rocks, the yellow/green grass and the blue sky - it makes for a very attractive combination. The composition gives us a very nicely layered view too, almost abstract. Well done!

Hi Nikki
The trees here help to give us an idea of the scale of this cliff. And the three bands of single colour make for an eyecatching shot. Still waiting for spring here, this image transports me to another world!
Have a nice evening, Susanna

Bonsoir Nikki

Hi Nikki,
The colour of the cliff here is really astonishing, sandwiched between the deep blue of the sky and the more delicate greens and yellows of the vegetation. The bands of different colours create a very appealing composition, while the crystalline quality of the light and the long shadows make the whole landscape resonate.
Very nice work.

Hi Nikki,
Wow, I love the vivid and vibrant colors of that red wall. Great details and very well seen. The polarizer helped to draw out the deep blue sky. TFS. Gerald

Hi Nikki. I envy you for experiencing such clear skies on your visit. i was most unlucky on my trip to Darwin- the coldest week on record, with grey skies to boot.Wonderful colours, vibrant light, spectacular topography. You have captured the spirit of the place. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Nikki,
I have seen this facade photographed many times, it is such a commanding sight. The contrast you demonstrate between the cloudless sky and ancient rock is delightful. I would suggest more sky for balance, but your crop is modern and works well. Perhaps the infusion of more colours would detract from the landscape. The white gums that dot the base of the cliff are a good indication of the height of this natural wall. Congratulations! Kind regards,
Matt

Salut Nikki,
"Red wall" is really very attractive in your photo and you saw it cleverly. I like also front part of scene the green part at foreground and clear blue sky a lot too. Congratulations.

Hello Nikki,
Beautiful and vibrant colours contrast well against the blue sky. I have never seen this place but the trees in the FG gives an indication of the enormity of it.
Well captured

Hi Nikki
The colours are wonderfully rich and provide interesting layers to look at. The polarizer did fade a bit in the right but all in all a great shot.

Hello Nikki,

Salut Nikki,
on retrouve bien les couleurs australiennes! Un beau mur rouge...et vert aussi. Manque plus que le beige du sable et le décor est complet. J'y retournerais bien un de ces quatre....

Hi Nikki.
I have been to this spot, although it was about 20 years ago. Your photo, with its incredible red rock face against the deep blue of the sky, reminds me of the trip I made. I think you've taken a pretty 'flat' scene here and made something impressive out of it by really using contrast and sharpness to show this ancient rockface and all its folds and indentations. The long shadows break up the arid foreground. The proportions of the composition are very pleasing.
Regards,
Andrew

Salut Nikki,
JB.

The colours are stunning. Unless you saturated different colours separately the paler grass would testify that these colours are natural. Beautiful!

it may be just a cliff, but what a blend of eye popping saturated (but totally natural) colour, the contrast of the deep blues with the red and green is fab.
(I may have a brief stopover in Darwin in July, I'm trying to combine south Pacific islands with Indonesia, a stopover in Darwin seems unavoidable, the airfare estimates are SOO expensive though.)
