[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
By Australian standards , 1897 was a long time ago. This is the old armory where various explosives and ordinance was stored, well away from housing. The self contained and still operating narrow guage railway is now used for childrens fun ride rather than moving bombs from the riverboats to shore.

Hello Murray, excellent capture with great clarity and sharpness and beautiful vivid colors. The rails make a nice leading line in the picture. Thanks for sharing. Greetings,
Kostas.

Hi Murray!

Beautiful architecture photo, great composition and great perspective created by these rails! I also like the vibrant colours of the photo! Congratulations!

Hercules

Hi Murray,

The rails are leading our eyes towards the entrance to the armory building. There is a good contrast between the colors. The details and colors of the architecture of the building are clear and precise. the subject is well framed.

Hello Murray,

I have recently been reading a lot about the early settlements in Australia, especially around Sydney Cove. Even though this was built about 100+ years after initial settlement, it holds historic significance for sure. I am glad that the once sinister use of this rail network has been rethought and used as a more peaceful attraction. You provide good symmetry here, and excellent saturation levels; as the grass and the bricks contrast effectively. Well done, something which I have not seen in Sydney before.

Matt

Hi Murray, I like the POV looking through the archway & down the tracks, the light & colours are very good indeed, a clear sharp shot & the note explains the picture perfectly, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hello Murray,

You chose a good place and a good angle nice middle of the gate.
The narrow railway line leads us excellent through the gate to the background, together with the green colours of the trees above the construction.
Nice summer image, very well done.
Thanks for sharing.

Best regards,
John.

Hello Murray,
Maybe rail transport was a good idea for explosives, to avoid a bumpy ride..!
And of course the present use is an even better idea...
A well composed image, with sharp fine details!
Greetings,

Hi Murray,

Apart from the so well chosen place to take the picture, I like the contrast among the left side, the right one in the foreground and the red brick of the armoury house and the green of the trees in the background. Good take!
Regards,
JR
