Cricket is dead for now the season has ended and football is back Australian Rules Football that is.

Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport contested by two teams, usually of eleven players each. A Test Match is usually played over five days. The bowler, a player from the fielding team, bowls a hard, fist-sized cricket ball from the vicinity of one wicket towards the other. The ball usually bounces once before reaching the batsman, a player from the opposing team. In defence of the wicket, the batsman plays the ball with a wooden cricket bat. Meanwhile, the other members of the bowler's team stand in various positions around the field as fielders, players who retrieve the ball in an effort to stop the batsman scoring runs, and if possible to get him or her out. The batsman — if he or she does not get out — may run between the wickets, exchanging ends with a second batsman (the "non-striker"), who has been waiting near the bowler's wicket. Each completed exchange of ends scores one run. Runs are also scored if the batsman hits the ball to the boundary of the playing area. The match is won by the team that scores more runs.
The sport's modern form originated in England over 100 years ago, and is most popular in the present and former members of the Commonwealth. In many countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Australia, cricket is the most popular sport. It is also a major sport in England, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe and the English-speaking countries of the Caribbean, which are collectively known in cricketing parlance as the West Indies. Many countries also have well-established amateur club competitions, including the Netherlands, Kenya, Nepal and Argentina.

This shot was taken on the last game of the season, used 300mm lens.

Hello Santo,

Great action shot through the fantastice position of both players.
Perhaps a biggest picture would a lot more lovely, but this is personal.
I find this work certainly very well.

Happy Easter,
John.

hi Santo

Very nice action shot from behind and such a good pair of figures to make up this composition and pov. Great sharpness and color contrast. Well done.

Ciao Santo ,
bellissimo il momento immortalato ,
ottimo tempismo , mi piace molto la pulizia della foto con dei colori euna ottima luce .
Tanti auguri di Buona Pasqua a te e famiglia

Hi Santo
Your note makes me wish that I still had an old tea towel of Mums with an hilarious version of cricket rules printed on it. Anyway, your framing is so dynamic and your have caught the action really well with the batsman and wicketkeeper so sharp and the ball in movement about to hit the wickets. Good bokeh too.
Regards
Nikki

Hello Santo,

Very vivid colors and indeed a very informative note. I really like the PoV as it is quite unique and interesting.

Good work

Hi Santo,

I really admire sports action shots that finish well; I tried shooting kite surfers over the weekend and they were just too fast and changed direction very unpredictably. I love the angle of the batter's feet as he kicks up some dust. Excellent, well saturated tones, especially the reds and greens which are the most vibrant. The reasonably central placement of the stumps is good as well. Great note, TFS.

Hey Santo

A terrific action shot, captured in the right moment, when all the action is going down and there is a nice dynamic to it. It is technically also well executed. Nice work.

See you around.

Hi Santo. Excellent action shot and perfectly timed. Good cropping and framing to include only what’s necessary to make this shot work. Well captured and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi santo.

Excellent moment this one you got in this picture.

My compliments!

Rgs, Oscar

Santo,
I don't understand a thing about crickett, but I have the impression that this must have been the last thrown ball in the season and it is about to hit the sticks. A shot full of dynamics!
Peter

Hi Santo,
This game is not evident in Turkey, but sometimes we see it in American movies. And the gestures and mimics of players look quite interesting to me.
This photo is a very good 300 mm application with sharp lines and a nice bokeh. The red hat is the eye catcher while other colors add to the compo. A fast shutter you should have used.
Cheers,
Deniz

Hi Santo,
Although sport photography is not one of my preferred, I have to reckon that your picture is:
a)Very well composed
b)Plenty of lively colours
c)Very good sharpened
d)Full of live
e)Taken from angle that makes of it a funny pict.
Great! :)

Hi Santo,
Is this a sticky wicket?
Lovely clear colors and sharp details to this fair weather sport.
No on to the men's sport. Austrilan Rules used to be showed on U.S. TV and I found it very action packed. Love the long coats the refs wear.
Regards, Tom

Hi Santo,

a very good sport shot, excellent moment capture, a lot of dynamism.

Well done!
