Photographer’s Note

Most surfing shots are all about the whole wave with the surfer. I have placed my camera on spot focus to get the faces of the surfer. I hope that you get the pleasure that this bloke is getting after he makes the tube.

En tant que surfeur.. je suis fan de tes photos de vagues elles sont splendides..
elle ci est remarquable, le visage du surfeur.. son expression est géniale.. On ressent le bonheur dans ses yeux..

Splendid and powerful!!!!! I did you manage that shot? is it a teleobjective that you used? but where were you posted to have tha angle? were you in the tube too? ;)
I am amazd by the sharpness here. And I love the surfer expression, it is almost pain, at the limit of rage....excellent. good pp too.

Hi Ric,
an phantastic moment that you captured..really nice, stunning perspective and you got really close. I´m not going along with the others about postprocessing. It seems you used a noise reduction filter which makes it look unnatural in my opinion. I´d prefer to have it not so sharp and smooth, it´s action, movement !
But this is the only point I´d change :)

Hello Richard,I love the shape and texture of the wave.The expression on the face of the surfer is wonderful and speaks volumes.
