Photographer’s Note
After a long day exploring Melbourne, I was going back to my YHA and there I saw the Royal Exhibition Building in a wonderful brightness. It is set in the middle of Carlton Gardens. In this night shot I tried to overexpose the fountain in front of the photo.
The Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens were inscribed on the World Heritage List. Both were recognised as being a rare surviving example of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century international exhibition movement.
