Photographer’s Note
This looks to be a very remote area as the bush is as it has been for many thousands of years. In fact it is one of the many natural bush ares in many steep valleys around Sydney.
The very dry weather pattern is hopefully now changing and good rains for the past 4 months means small streams such as this have water flowing again.

Hi Murray,
I think everybody will be praying for the dry spell to be over. Places like this will become tender dry and become susceptible to forest fire. You've captured and presented this lush surrounding wonderfully. Well done! tfs

Hello Murray,
Photographing the Australian bush at close range is a difficult thing. I have never accomplished it to the standard I desire. Such a photographer in the bush has many factors impeding the chances of getting a good photo - the shrubby tangled mess of foliage, the broken lighting of varying intensity and often drab colours. There is often so much fine, closely woven plant material in a photo that it becomes busy and hard to focus. But that’s just the way our forests are (unlike for example, North American).
This shot is good, it still presents some of those (unavoidable) less desirable things I mentioned, but it is softened by the inclusion of the green tree-fern fronds and more lush plants closer to the water. My only suggested improvement would be to shoot at a darker time of day so that the 'busy' background shrub is not so well lit. If it were darker with only the front section selectively lit, it would be a better shot. It's not easy, so we have to keep experimenting with settings and methods. Well done, considering the circumstances.

Hello Murray,
very fine composition of this beautiful bush formation which looks magnificent and it is the main attraction of your composition. Superb point of view with good clarity, colour and details.
Great job indeed, tfs and have a nice Sunday.

Hello Murray,
This looks like virgin jungle to me, untouched by humans!
The foliage is so dense light hardly reach the forest bed, and I notice the fernlike large plants...
Well framed, good colours and details!

Hi Murray
Good use of the tree fern frond, to frame the scene, with well managed lighting, & excellent sharpness & colour. Tfs!

Hi Murray,
This bush area is well furbished and full of colors. It must be full animal, bird and insect life hidden in the bush. It is receiving a good luminosity which brings out the colors. Have a nice day.

Good shot, all this greenery is nice to see when outside my windows world are getting white. We have snow finally, and it lay for a 2 days already - kind of a wonder in this strange winter.
