Photographer’s Note
Hello All,
Today was my 19th birthday, and look what I got! Well, no. I spent the day at the Gold Coast with my family. While waiting in traffic at a set of lights at the famous Cavil Avenue, I could not help but to take this photo of this Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet , one of the many powerful luxury cars that cruise this lavish stretch of coastline.
I can only wish.
Some of you might think, ‘it’s just a car’ as I often do with these kinds of shots, but I took this photo primarily because I liked the reflection of the man’s glasses. Also, a difficult cropping circumstance. I took this from the back seat of the car through the windscreen; we were in the four-wheel drive so I had a reasonably good elevated angle. I was happy with the result through the tinted glass.
A few stats:
Concept
2+2 seater coupe,
all-wheel drive,
Rear-engine,
3.8 litres, 6 cylinders
Performance
261 kW (355 bhp) at 6,600 rpm
0-100 km/h in 4.9 s
Top speed: 288 km/h

* Tomorrow I will go back to posting some low light landscapes from Kirra Beach. *

Hallo Matthew!
Envy - for no reason! Do you know whether it's paid ... !? Often these cars have to make up for some other deficiency ;-) Nevertheless an interesting and colourful shot with a skillful buildup - but this guy is sitting at the wrong side!!! ;-)
By the way: Happy Birthday!
Greetings from Germany, where Porsche is built! ;-)

Hi Matt. An excellent and original POV and i agree that the guys sunglasses caught in this perspective are a highlight. Keep up your studies and you will have this one day. Follow your dreams and do what you love, then you don't need to work everyday. TFS. Murray.

That is almost like the capture of a dream in another way! But before that Matthew...Wish you a very very happy birthday. I am sure we'll see more such marvels in the years to come and we get to see your young perspective of the world around. great going dude. Keep it going.

Hello Matthew,
Good angle, and I like the tight cropping!
Colourful image, and mind you... Those are not the eyes of a 19 years old, so pick your choice!

Hi Matthew,
car capture are not always my thing, but this one is well done, the tight framing reduced to the Porsche in height and width let us focus only on the car and his driver, what a luck it was a one glancing and clean.

Hi Matt, happy birthday to you!
Not in a way to discourage you about photography or urban planning career, but I suppose a 19-year-old to have this car, you would need
.a super rich daddy or mommy
.a wiz kid of IT.com success
Nice crop of this shot, with curves of car and its bright yellow color. A dream machine.

Great work, Matt and TFS

Hello dear Matthew,
Happy birthday, and may you see the 22nd century This is an effective advertising photograph of the Porsche 911, and the reflection in the mirror of the driver adds a human touch (in most of the world, if you saw his face in the mirror, you would see the back of his head again the left headrest).
Happy Birthday again,
Bulent

Hi Matt
Firstly a belated Happy Birthday. It's hard for me to remember when I was 19 as it was so long ago, lol.
You've done an excellent cropping and erasing job here. The reflection is great and of course I love the car. For me, sports cars are prettiest in yellow and it's nothing to do with Nikon. I'll have to show this to my daughter who wants a Porsche cabriolet when she grows up.

Hi Matthew. Belated best wishes and congratulations on this elegantly cropped and colourful shot. I suppose envy would be rampant if the bloke had a stunning blonde or brunette in the passenger seat. Just joking. i bet he cannot take a shot like this nor write critiques like you. Considering the difficulties at play when you took this shot (which have not marred the shot in any way), this is a fine creation. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Matt,
Ooooh, very stylish! I love the strong colors here as well as the tight crop cos they make the subject stand out really well. The POV is really good too, showing the model of the car as well as the guy with his sunnies. Looks like he's enjoying his cruise down the coast. I like the reflections and the lines of the road as well as the presentation. Windscreen shots are difficult, but when the opportunity is there, ya gotta take it, and you've done a great job at that, with a bit of post processing, you've transformed it into a great pic. Well seen!

Hi Matthew
Happy belated birthday! Superb sharpness, with bright vibrant colours, of red & yellow, contrasting against the drab, grey bg. I like the tight framing, too. Tfs!

G'day Matt!
Happy birthday for last month, mate! Now - if you'd said you got a brand new Nikon D3 or D300 - that would've made ME envious! My bet is that it was a hire car!!
Good snap of a real poser's car!
Best wishes - Jeff

Hi Matthew,
Great shot and title. I know how tricky it can be to shoot something like this from a moving car, and this is well executed. I especially appreciate the details on the Porsche... Nice!
Best regards,
José

Sweeeet. The photo turned out very clear considering it's through the windscreen. I very much like the tight crop and bold color and the mirror reflection definitely makes the shot. Hope you had a great birthday.
Cheers, Rob.
