Photographer’s Note
On Manly Beach, a half-hour ferry ride from Circular Quay in Sydney, there is a shallow pool at the very far end of the beach, close to the cliff. I fell for the composition of blue pool, blue sky and yellow signs, with the hugging lovers (one of them wearing red) in the background. Most of all, I found the signs funny. I'm not sure whether the top one means that you can fall into the pool or over the railing into the sea? Maybe it just means slippery surface? The bottom one took me a while to figure out until I noticed that the poor guy is actually diving in, not trying to make an underwater handstand. Do not dive, I guess it means.
I've reposted the original photo, with more of the shadow in it. Looking at it, it now makes more sense to keep the shadow, don't you think?

By cutting out apparently empty parts of the image, the previous crop was too close. Vista is essential here and it's have been a shame not to post your original composition before, which exhudes a real feeling a timelessness and immensity.
