I took this underwater photo during a trip to the Great Barrier Reef – staying on a Live-a-Board for a week. The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system, composed of roughly 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for 2,600 kilometres (1,616 mi) over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometres (132,974 sq mi). The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia.

We saw lots of barracuda while diving in Australia - sometimes even seeing small schools of them. Due to their reflective silver color.... I think they are one of the hardest fish to photograph!

Like sharks - barracudas have long had a bad reputation as being dangerous to humans. However, unprovoked attacks on humans are extremely rare and millions of scuba divers, snorkelers and swimmers spend time with them in the water without any incidents.
