Photographer’s Note
We were taught in school that Australia "rode on the sheep's back" to prosperity, and it's true that the wool industry was vital in the early stages of economic development. Not quite so prominent these days but still important. These particular sheep live very happily it seems, near Healesville, east of Melbourne. On the crest of the hill you can see some vines. In recent years vineyards have sprung up all over the place in this pretty region of the state of Victoria.

Great vista here Jennifer, I'd be tempted to dodge the sheep ever so slightly in order to make them stand out just a bit more.

very nice diagonal compo and that soft sky, wow. As i talked to my new Aussie friends about Australia is a place I would really like to see, and shots like this one makes that even clearer to me.

Very beautiful perspective of this landscape. A very good choice to use this diagonal line as a frontier between the field and the foggy background. Each sheep plays as a contrasting detail among the overall green tones of the foreground. Very well done.

Beautiful scenery and colors, and I like the ominous clouds behind. The sheep don't seem to mind either. The comments made about the extra bright and dark areas are well said, but overall this is a very nicely seen and captured pastoral scene, along with the historical note.

Beautiful composition. The diagonal separating the image in two gives an interesting balance and leads the eye around the frame. Well done.

A beautiful and very pleasing rural scene, Jennifer. The sheep on the sloping hill in front of the vineyard make nice subjects, and the background hilles topped by clouds complement this "layered" composition very well. Good notes, too.

This would be well worth a reshoot on a better day. The composition is stunning.
'Dodge' means to hold back exposure so the selected part of the image is lighter, (previously too dark), & 'burn' means you increase exposure so a highlight that is way too bright & washed out, becomes much darker & deatails start to appear.
I may try a ws to demonstrate, not that this image has any major flaws, on the contrary.

Hi jennifer, this is a great picture, the sheep that are everywhere, the mountains, the slope, the clouds, you all got it nicely rendered, I like the sheep, they are so nicely spread out.
BTW, getting any nearer? I can telle, once you get over it, it gets more easy avery time.

The thumbnail doesn't do justice to this gorgeous image with dark tones and well saturated colors. The bold shapes in the composition almost make this a graphical image, but the delicate details, including the sheep, the fence, the trees tell us the real story. Fine note and wonderful capture Jennifer.

Good note, and well seen, catching the two agricultural products that Australia is most famous for, very TE shot.

An abstract painting from nature and farmers, with some slightly surreal elements! Well seen, fine composition!

Curious light you got here in a still landscape with inclined horizont, alomost floating sheeps above the greens and traitening sky. Those are the elements that makes this shot paricular.
