Photographer’s Note
I think this is more that 200 years old :)
Took this from an airplane (Airbus A330 - most comfortable plane I have ever been in!) flying from Brisbane to Perth. Normally the flight goes further south near Adelaide, but because of strong winds on the normal route, the plane flew on a more northern route near Ayers Rock. The captain anounced when we were nearby, and just about every body got up to move to the right side of the plane have a look out the window. I had my camera ready :-)
Cropped in Photoshop, adjusted levels (removed lots of blue!) and sharpened. Because this was through a airplane window the quality isn't the best.

This is a great shot, Graeme. Not many people get the opportunity to see Ayers Rock from this perspective. I did, years ago, and it was a huge thrill. Lucky you got the town (Yulara I assume) because it provides some scale. Don't worry about lack of image quality - the subject is the thing here. Well done.

Une vue impressionante ... cela ressemble à une main sortant de la terre !
