Photographer’s Note
After Talbingo's Tumut 3, it was off to Melbourne.
This is an interesting sculpture that I saw on the way while passing Wangaratta in north-east Victoria. Wangaratta is the home of Australia's annual jazz festival and this sculpture was commissioned by the festival committee to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Wangaratta Festival Of Jazz in 1999.
The artist of this beautiful contemporary sculpture is Ann Ferguson-Durkin. You can find out more about her artwork on the following site: http://www.annferguson-durkin.com/index.html.
The sculpture consists of five life-sized figures on a tiled platform.
I was really attracted to this sculpture, because of its unique style, design and colours, and also the fact that I myself am a musician and appreciate the arts, both performing arts and artwork.
