Photographer’s Note
The Yanakee Run is the flat that lies between the rolling hills of Victoria as they extend into Wilson's Promontory and the tallest peak in the promontory itself.
We climbed the peak, then crossed over to the run, walked to the beach on our left and behind. At that moment we saw this herd of kangaroo. I stalked them a bit to get as close as I could, then they bolted.
[I know it has a bit of dust in the corners, but I left them to retain the old feel]

love this animesh, simply love this - this photo is an evidence of an independent photo-mind of yours, your individualism is visible even in your approach to the frame of the image... fascinating...
best wishes, j.

hello Animesh,
Wow, this is very well done ! I like it very much, the compo, the colours and the fraim. Also the higher grain is so beautiful here. It looks indeed a bit "old" but i like that very much!

This picture brought back memories of one of my most favourite childhood movies, "Born Free". Love the way you captured the motion which creates the feeling of an "explosion" of kangaroos from the central focal point from where they fly out like sharpnels in various directions. Very different from your recent pictures and a joy to watch.

Fantastic feeling emanating from this old scan, Animesh. This oine is a little gem. Love the vignetting and the dust and the golden feeling in tne grass. Very filmic moment, reminds me of a scene from "The long red line".
Best,
Francis

Hi Animesh,
I was reading Alec Sloth's blog, in which he wrote something about tactile photography. This one above is it, I think.
I saw this before, but couldn't find the words to describe it. It's a little surreal, and transcending for me, which is what I sometimes look out for..great classic post!

Hi like this one too.
I sometimes wonder why I bother having the new top notch piece of kit that make super clean photo when I am in love with this old film style, with vignetting, grain etc...
There is something of a movie here.
Well done!

First class. Glad they bolted. You have a fine image here. ;) Did you make them bolt? If so, it was a good idea.
