This gondola must have taken a wrong turn at St Marks, and ended up on the Yarra River in Melbourne's Docklands. There are some interesting buildings around here, and they make a good contrast with the old fashioned gondola. I was able to single out the elliptical building and place it behind the gondola.

Scanned from a slide. Polariser used to bring out the colour of the sky and minimize glare on the white bits. Cropped a little from the top and sharpened.

Hi Vincent,
Very interesting image; nice contrast between the gondola and the modern building. Colors and sharpness are nice throughout the image.
Cheers,
Daniel

Hi Vincent, you have to love that blue sky. The red in the gondola adds a nice bit of contrast to the blues. Very nicely composed.

Thanks, John

Hi Vincent
If it's not Venice it must be Melbourne :-)
I remember having seen this gondola. What a contrast against the stunning building in the background. I would have just cropped out the slice of building on the left as it distracts rather and removed the noise (and curl of dust ?) especially present in the sky.
I wish you a very Merry Xmas.
Regards
Nikki
