[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
They say that Uluru (Ayers rock) extends for 5-6km below the surface of the ground. However they are not like huge boulders of rock sitting in the ground, they are part of larger sections of folded layers of rock that extend below the earths surface.
The height of Uluru is 348m above the plain and 863m above sea level. The circumference is 9.4km.

OOoo..love the colour contrast between the grass and the rock. Love the way you put the tree at lower right 1/3 of the photo. Photograpy procedures at its best. Nice rock texture captured as well. Love the shot and such an interesting POV. All the others would have taken picture of the whole rock structure only, great thinking to come up with this composition.

TFS,
Jon

OK, so yesterday's post was the most original shot I had ever seen of Ayers rock. This is the second most original one !! You are quite good at this ! There is inherent beauty in rocks (I am a geologist, so I am biased) and you are finding a way to make this beauty blossom in your photos. Show us more, please !! Richard

Hi Wanda,
excellent composition. Tree and gras add dimension in an excellent way. The surface of the Uluru is a bit like some clothes because of the "crinkles" on the upper part..
More from this? I would like to see more..
Cheers, Ulf

Hi, Wanda.
I see you very like australian nature. It is good. Nature is beautiful. Next interesting photo with nice colours and good composition. Well done.
Marek

Hi Wanda,
very interesting look at the Uluru rocks... I like this kind of perspective... Good composition with the withered tree...
Well done. Best regards,
Andrzej

Hi Wanda,
This red rock is incredibly beautiful, with specific texture and the naked tree makes with it a good combination. Nice saturated colors, strong contrasts. Like it,
regards,
maki

Great shot Wanda. Excellent composition. I like the very different contrasting textures and colours - the tree, the grass and the red rock. TFS. Leon.

Hello Wanda,
you are producing pictures at aa good rate!! I like this series on ulurus formation as it is something I completely ignored. Thanks for teaching that to me. This one caught my eye mainly because of the tree placed there with the uluru formation as a backdrop providing great contrast!
Very good!
Marc

Very nice compo, both color and graphical wise. That sense of 'going up' and the textures are amazing.
Your collection of post of this place is awesome.
TFS.

Hoi Wanda,
I like your beautiful series on Uluru. I like this one best for its simple disorder. The lines of Uluru are all upward and slightly to the right except for some smal disturbtion. The dead tree is going up as well, but in all kind of directions except along with the lines of Uluru.
Even though there are only a few elements in this photo, there are so many subcolors of the basic elements Uluru, the grass and the dead tree that it becomes really colorful (just like the rest of Australia).
Excellent photo, well captured!
Harko

PS. I probably could have written this in Dutch because of your last name, not sure you understand it though.

Hi Wanda. A very evocative shot of this ancient monolith (or is it a monolith, judging by your note?)The details are most revealing and the vertical format imposing. The inclusion of the dead tree adds another element and strong interest. regards. Klaudio.
