Photographer’s Note
This sculpture is in a children's playground in the Docklands area of Melbourne. It's a fascinating wind-driven sculpture about 10 metres high. The little coloured metal cups rotate around on the arms as the wind blows them, just like an anemometer (device for measuring wind speed).
Scanned from a slide. I straightened out the buildings using the free distort tool in Photoshop because they were leaning inwards too much for my liking, due to pointing the camera upwards. But this distorted the main sculpture, so I then stretched the image vertically to restore the shape of the sculpture.

Interesting photo and very informative. Youve captured the colors of the sculpture on a beautiful day.

I live in Docklands and have a few shots of this amazing sculpture. Yours is particularly well done. Getting a POV that doesn't include too many buildings is difficult!
I keep meaning to head back there on a windy and overcast day. I have a feeling dropping a ND8 filter in front of the lens and letting the wind blur out those rotating coloured balls would make for a splendid photo.
Well done, and thanks for sharing it.
