Photographer’s Note
Western Victoria. Looking West, the Grampians rise from the volcanic lava plains with dark morning clouds hung above. Yet from behind, in the East, the sun has just risen and makes its presence felt on the trees and ground. Soon the clouds are burnt away for a stunning, sunny but chilly late spring day.

very australia.. makes me think of that gangajang song.. for your shot, i'd like to see a touch more sky. it seems too symmetrical for my tastes. but that's only a small thing.. well done.

Hi Barry!
Great landscape shot with fantastic light and colors.Good composition with the trees at the golden foreground and the grampians in the background. In 2002 I stayed some days at a campground close to Hals Gap and I had a wonderful time there. Thanks for showing this good photo.

Hi Barry
It's crazy, you've gone for heat wave to cold. Typical for Victoria though.
I like the contast between the golden grass and darkness of the clouds. The trees are so sharp and so weird being charred. It's nice to see that all is not dead after the terrible bush fires.
Regards
Nikki

Great light conditions for the photo that normaly lasts only few minutes. The sky is the darkest part of the photo and objects in the foreground are the brightest.
The fence is a bit distracting, but I think there was nothing you could do about it.

Hi Barry!
You have captured a turbulent weather morning which makes the picture all the more dramatic. Your colors are bright and vivid despite the difficult light conditions. Very romantic compo with that dead trees...
Greetings from autumnal Europe!

G'day Barry,
I haven't seen this part but the colors in the Gippslands were quite similar when driving from Lakes Entrance to Wilsons Prom.
This is a beautiful landscape with its Eucalyptus trees, the golden field, the mountains and the beautiful light. I would so much like to see the for me unseen parts of Australia (see my travelogue) but that will have to wait for a few years.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
