Boathouse on Swan River Photo

Photographer’s Note

This boat house is a familiar sight to many who live in the Perth area. It's situated along the Swan River and those who drive often along Mounts Bay Rd/Stirling Highway on the way from Perth to Fremantle will probably recognize it. Although Perth is right by the coast, the river draws just as many people and activities. The river is a popular location for joggers and cyclists.

Hi Sylvia, this a very beautiful and original image. I like the point of view and the composition. There's a bit of noise in the sky and the jpeg quality isn't fantastic. Try saving your photos with larger file sizes (up to 200KB), so that excessive compression won't have a negative effect on the image quality. Apart from that, well done!

Very beautiful symmetric composition. But since you have used shutter speed of 6 sec. why did you choose iso 1600? It created a lot of noise in the sky.

It's a little frightening... as you see in horror movies...

A very well taken shot. I think the ISO 1600 setting created the grainy picture. I love the panaramic framing, it makes the house really stand out.
