Photographer's Note

Every morning in Kalbarri a flock of pelicans come ashore to get fed as part of a tourist attraction. It started with a local fisherman who used to through the bits he didn't want to the pelicans every morning, but one day he didn't come out so the pelicans waddled across the road and sat in his garden looking for food. Unfortunately some of the birds would get hit by cars and hurt or killed, so a group of volunteers now feed the birds on the grass next to the beach, and they give a talk to tourists as well on the animals. They only give them less than 1/3rd of the daily intake so it doesn't stop them being self sufficient.
