Photographer’s Note
This was the first Jeep to bring peoples out of Coober Pedy to the Breakaway reserve and then to a "road" where they can leave this place by common transport (eithier bus or plane..)The desert is so vast down there that you can look all around you and see nothing for miles and miles...The sand in the Australian desert is often red burned because of the extremes temperatures. I love the desert feeling, makes it look like the world is really wide and sometimes lonely. I was waiting for the jeep that you can see on the picture to come back to pick me up with 2-3 other peoples. Meanwhile, we were left alone for about 45 minutes in the desert hearing nothing else than the winds blowing and look at sand and hills everywhere surrounding us. From time to time we could see some lizards (HUGES ones down there, everythis is bigger than normal in Oz. I will post a picture later on)that were curious to see us, and the landscape was marvelous.. like being on Mars! i will post some other pictures of the breakaway reserve later on... of course there is no street at all in this part of Australia. A picture cannot render all the vast open space of the desert to someone who's watching it...

Hi Jeff, once again an amazing shot! I envy your desert experience and hope to have one of my own some day!
Having the Jeep in the shot is a nice touch. For this shot I think I would have cropped out some of the sky, as the area you are focusing on is the desert. Still excellent though! Keep them coming!

Vous avez raison Jeff. Si ce n'était de la jeep et de la rare végétation, on se croirait sur Mars... en plus chaud. J'ai bien hâte de voir vos lézards.
