Photographer’s Note

After Stanthorpe, the next place of interest was Balancing Rock.

Balancing Rock, a gigantic boulder of granite resting on a 300 millimetre point amongst other rock formations, is located 12km south of Glen Innes on the New England Highway. The rock is about 150m from the highway on private property, so it can only be viewed from the the rest area marked with the sign "Balancing Rock".

The inset shows part of another photo I made - a zoomed in version, using my Sigma 70-300 Macro lens.
