Photographer’s Note
Spicers Gap used to be one of the main 'roads' over the steep east coast escarpment of the Great Dividing Range, to access the Darling Downs. All transport was by bullock carts & pack horses.
Today, the main road goes through Cunninghams Gap, to the north. The dam in the distance is 'Moogerah Dam', flanked by Mt Greville on the right.

Hi Chris,
Greens contrasting blues in a nice landscape and taken from a good angle and perspective. Good bright light, fine sharpness and contrast. A simple capture with a excelent enquadrement, so well seen and composed.
Congratulations and TFS

What a grand vista! The combination between the details of the woods and the grand view is very impressive. Good job on composition it is hard to do such landscape when the widest you got is 100mm. But you make the right choices such as not including too much sky. I do think that the composition would have been much stronger with something in the forground?
Cheers,
Mikkel
PS: Perhaps the image is slightly oversharpened?

Great view, with the two mountains, one on each side, and the carpet of forests sweeping down between them. This has a nice, panoramic feel to it. Good work!

Bonsoir Chris,
Forêts à perte de vue. J'imagine le dur labeur des hommes quand ils devaient emprunter ces chemins à l'aide de boeufs ou des chevaux.
Paysage grandiose.
Amitiés.

Hi Chris. Looking at this reminds me a little of the mountains around me. I like the u shape between the mountains in the middle. A little more contrast might be interesting to see. Well done Chris.

Hi Chris,
This is another beaut SEQ photo of old. I like the placement of the dam between the two peaks, Mt. Greville and Mt. Edwards. The green/blue saturations in this shot are reminiscent of the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. Again, the Gaussian blur in the sky works well in this photo, leading into the sharp FG of a million eucalypts. Well done, thanks!
Matt
