Photographer’s Note
'The Little Desert' is the name given to these shifting sandhills, at the southern, protected, western end of Moreton Island. The dark area in the ocean is seagrass, on which dugong (a close relative of the manatee) feed. The trees growing in the water & along the shoreline, are mangroves.
There was an oyster farm just north of nearby Kooringal.

hi chris, this is delightful - the lonely tree really underlines a dry atmosphere of the place, interesting how the plants find their way through plain sand wherever they have a chance to;
beautiful colours;
best wishes, jerzy

Wonderful Chris!
The shots with this type of scenary are my favorites! I can imagine my self, alone, making nice walks in the heat of the strong sun and hot sand...
Lovely composition with this tree in foreground and all that beautiful landscape in the background. I love the mix between whites and greens in the water and the shadows on the sand in foreground.
TFS,
Have a nice day,
Ricardo

Nicely framed simple landscape, good use of the tree in the compo, and a characteristic view, it seems.

Bonjour Chris,
Un petit désert enchanteur, une véritable oasis de paix et de sérénité.
La beauté simple, mais tellement bénéfique en ce moment où l'automne souhaite laisser sa place à l'hiver.
Très belle prise de vue.
Amitiés.

Hi Chris,
A little desert but also a paradise piece of nature. Beautiful white sand and emerald color water near. Splendid landscape, light and depth. Fine perspective with the little trees at left foreground and the others at distance.
Very good work, well seen and composed. Congratulations and have a nice weekend.

Chris, great photo! Good compo with the tree off center, leaving space for the BG (which is a bit off focus and isolates the FG nicely!) and good depth with the risen horizon (The shadow of the tree also contributes immensly)! Well done!

That sand is so inviting, so clean and white, it really makes me be there. The colour of the sky and ocean is made even more intense by the contrast with the white sand. nice composition too, with the tree perfectly positioned. Great work Chris!

Hi Chris - the bare branches sticking out of the sand certainly give it a "desert" rather than beach atmosphere, so it is all the more interesting to see the ocean behind it, and with so many different tones.

Hi Chris. Judging from the colors I might guess you had a polarizer on. Good job with retaining the highlights. It's great with the location of the tree in the foreground. Well done Chris.

Hi Chris, A good capture of the sand dunes next to the beautiful ocean. Good color contrast and nicely composed picture.

Interesting to see this "little" desert by the sea, Chris. Good simple framing with the single tree battling the seemingly adverse circumstances for its existence. Nice colors and contrast.

Usually I do not like the loss of details due to overexposure ... but the same fact sort of enhances the composition of this photo.
good effects

Hi Chris,
This is a simple yet very artistic shot. The blue against the white is very attractive and lovely and I love the single tree with is shadow and overlooking the vase open space towards the sea. The smaller trees dotting the shoreline created interesting repetition and rhythm. Excellent shot!! Regards.

Hi Chris. The withered tree on the left is a nice inclusion to this shot (would have been a bit empty without it) and the well saturated colours help to make this a strong composition overall. Cheers . . . David
