Photographer’s Note
The Sydney Central Business District as seen from an outdoor cafe, along the waterfront, near the Opera House. The Circular Quay Ferry stations can be seen below the buildings. This shot was taken on my first visit to Sydney, and I fell in love with the multi-cultural City immediately. As with any large city, it does have it's problems, but the people, the setting, and the vibrancy make it a fantastic place.
The post production changes made make the shot a bit surreal (the purposely over-saturated colors reflecting in the water are definately not natural), but I wanted to bring out the Red Blue Yellow reflections and make the 'primary colors' the focus of the composition.
- Cloned out white specks in the sky on the scanned negative.
- Increased contrast +10
- Increased saturation to bring out the red, yellow and blue reflection in the water.
- Sharpened

Great work... Especially the colours reflected construct a flag-like pattern, it also demonstrates the multi-cultural pattern of Australia I think.
