Driving on 75 mile beach needs a little more care and inspiration than driving on a highway.
If you got the chance to drive during outgoing tide on the strip of smooth sand that has just dried, it will be like on the freeway and 100 kms ar not a problem as long as you are not facing a washout, carved by a freshwater creek. Washouts can easily cause a rollover. Really tough driving appears if you choose the soft and dry sand next to the dunes. It can easily make your car stuck if you are not in 4WD or did not lock the front wheels. Another mistake can be caused by traffic. Other cars usually indicate the side on which to pass by setting the lights. Airplanes don't. They simply take off if you try to overtake.
