Sadly, this is a view that no longer exists. The rock arch on the left collapsed in 1990, stranding several tourists on the new island. They had to be rescued by helicopter. Taken from a 110 mm slide, so technical quality is not that great. I've applied an unsharp mask.

This part of the Victorian coast is rapidly eroding, & comprised of limestone & sandstone.

This is beautiful. Here in santa cruz we have a similar scenery and the bridge has also collapsed. The inclusion of the human is great as it gives an idea of the gradness of this place. Fantastic textures and the composition is great too.

Hello Chris,

What an impressive panorama, i like the man on the picture, he must be so impress of the panorma and the sound of the waves .
I like is a lot.
cheers
greg

Hi Chris,
Its too bad about the victorian coast, at least we can say its not humanly inflicted as that would be the ultimate shame. Like the guide said in Paracas, nature giveth, nature taketh away....

J'aime bien les coleurs et la presence humaine.

A+

Daniel

I never see the London bridge like this attached to the coast, nice point of view.
Thnaks for sharing this old one Chris.
Sylvie

Bonjour Chris,
Philippe

Hi Chris J
Wow. Very very great and beautiful landscape hot. Color of water and mountain and special alone women viewing, Well composition. Bravo. Huy

Hi Chris,
It was for sure a spectacular place, OK quality is not top but we must as well consider the age of the photo, 25 years ! Still we manage to see well the place, how the are is shaken and the deep blue sea color. I like too the inclusion of the person to get a scale.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Good documentary, excellent scanning of this 25 years old shot. Too bad that the bridge is no longer there. Very good to have the person there for sizing. Nice of you to present this beatiful place in such a well made compo Chris.

Hello Chris,
You did an excellent job scanning the slide, as the photo has retained good detail and colour. Very interesting rock formations, seen from a POV that is excellent. As your note indicates, many such formations are eroding and collapsing. A good composition with much dynamism and contrasts.
John

Wow, Chris, A photo from 1980. A nice historic photo. I think the name was right fit into this scene and its final result. It's too bad that the scenery is gone.
A well captured picture. I like the person as a size reference there.

Hi Chris,

Very impressive shot anyway.
Brilliant idea to put a person in the front so one can estimate the size.
I have been there late 1990 but the bridge on the left collapsed a view weeks before so I only saw the fragments in the water.
Glad to see the original beauty. TFS.

Thomas

Hello Chris,
Lol, j’adore le titre !!!
Belle vue, superbe palette de couleurs !
J’aime bien le gars en bas dans la composition !
Beau travail
Amicalement

Hello Greg,
Nice capture of the place that no langer exists. The technical quality is not so bad
for a scan from such a small slide.Well composed with the persons on top of the cliffs.
regards,
hermann

Well, good that you were there before the bridge was gone, Chris. A fine nature photo with an appealing contrast in color tones and textures. The person overlooking the scenery is a great add for scale and a vivid detail.

Hi Chris
Yes a very long time ago.J'etais là en 93 et il etait déjà cassé.
Mais une très belle imave
Regards.
Toni

Hi Chris. Nature can't be stopped in this sitation and all we have are our memories. Lucky for you captured this fine shot. The saturation is a little high but everything else is nice. The person really is well placed and adds vitality to the pic. I have a similar arch that is pending collapse that I had to see before it collapes: Landscape Arch

Great point of view and nice result from the scan Chris, even if it's not perfect quality, the place looks very nice. Nice to have include someone for dimension, well seen.

Hihi, well seen Chris, the landscape and these cliffs are amazing and impressive, very good to have included the guy, he looks so small.
Nice job
Luan

Hi Chris - a historic and breathtaking view, and the human presence adds dimension, nothing wrong with the image quality, if only my negatives half as old, fared this well. Now that I've seen the arch though, it does look very delicate, personally I would have been too afraid to walk on it.

hi Chris,
I guess then it is a pretty historic and valuble shot. The scenery from where you are looks tremendous. nice oceaon/sky colors.

Nice to see that tiny man in the midts of this wild nature, good composed on 5 differant levels into the deep blue sea and sky.

Wonderful and great nature,Chris!
very beautiful and great POV you had,the person in the shot gives a nice touch, also good for scale and made the shot more lively, very well worked with a fine composition, attractive colors and sharpness, nicely done!
Yours

What a sight anyway - glad if nobody was killed at the "event" - it seldom those collapses actually seen by any.

Could be a photo for a new theme: Motifs which gone now - The twelwe apostels, and WTC includes - thanks Chris for sharing.

Nice shot Chris;

I guess the people should be greatful that they weren't on the arch when it collapsed. They should consider themselves lucky- that arch existed for how many years- and they were there when it collapsed!

Cheers!
