Photographer's Note
Mount Tempest is the highest sand dune in the world - on an island. The island can be found within 40 minutes sailing from Brisbane River to Moreton Island.
There are several sand islands protecting the sunshine coast and Brisbane City. From Bribie Island in the north to Moreton Island, North Stradbroke and South Stradbroke Island they offer easy acess by vessels and barges and excellent camping areas. Freshwater lakes, protected beaches on the westside and great surfs on the east side offer similar sights as on world heritage listed Fraser Island. Unfortunatelly none of the Islands except Fraser Island offers a real rainforest.

Wow! Amazing colors and excellent composition.
I like the way the people are stretching from the bottom left part into the dune.
You got all the right stuff into this picture, the clouds, the dune, and the line of people walking giving some perspective to this dune.
Well done

Very drametic photo with that polorizer making a dramatic contrast. The composition works well with the crowd to the lhs and that single person in front gives us a perfect sense of scale.

wonderful outcome,
I like the effect you used - polarization I believe?
I for once think you should have mentioned it in the note, since it adds 80% of the shot's dramatic view.
as for the framing, I would have cropped a bit off the right to make the people cover 2/3 of the width.
still, wonderful shot, I just love it.

Great image Thomas and really interesting place to share with us - photographically I would lose the two folks to the extreme left but otherwise great image.

Waoohh, surreal !
One of the most fantastic image I 've seen on TE ! Reminds me of the Pila Dune in France, but even bigger.

Hi Thomas
Nice composition. Dynamic dune and interesting clouds. A bit too polarized. But this type of shot is very difficult. I have problems too finding the perfect exposure. Well done.

Guten Tag Thomas
I haven't seen this part of the island, but I did go to the 'Little Desert', near Kooringal, on the southern part of the island. I like the color contrast of blue & yellow, & the people add scale & conmtext. Tfs
