Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken 3 weeks after a bushfire in Karijini NP /Western Australia. The eucalypt trees are used to bushfires which are a common sight in Australia's outback and the termites also survive the heat deep inside their mouds. The deep red colour comes from a content of up to 80 percent iron ore in the soil and rocks of this unique area. This moud was approximately 1 m high and one of the bigger examples here. In the Darwin region another species called magnet termites builds mouds that easily reach a hight of 3 meters and more and often are build alongside the magnet field lines of mother earth.

I really like this one, Thomas!
The deep, warm earth tones are wonderful, the textures, shapes and forms are beautiful, your composition and the light and shadows create a nice, dramatic effect.
Good work!
