Photographer's Note
Going to the beach in summer is one of the most popular recreational activities in southern Australia. Here the surf rolls in perfectly for the creation of many excellent beaches, and riding surf boards and body boards is enjoyed by many. Catching a wave and riding it successfully is very satisfying and it’s easy to spend many hours searching for that perfect ride. This is Thirroul beach, around 100km south of Sydney, which can be packed with locals on the weekends.
In the background, on the sand, some people are enjoying a game of beach volleyball.

I like this a lot, Chris - great sense of movement, good timing, gorgeous colour of the water. I'm really surprised it hasn't received more comment - it deserves it, imo.

I like the good shot Chris,
But in this case I think I had cropped the beach at the top, cropping to the right and than jus for the gulf going unther. I think personal that was nicer, but ofcoarse what is personal, very good job any way

Hi Chris,
A very good summer shot! Good composition, good colors, and nice effect of the waves. Surf is a very attractive activity in australia, I think! A nice shot, well done.
