On the Picnic Bay of Magnetic Island a little stream flows to the sea. Harbour of Townsville is barely visible 8 km away.

very pretty picture, well taken from good POV.The colors of the boulders are unique and draw attention in the foreground. The sea visible in between them has slightly different shade than sky and adds more cool tones to the composition.
Perfect sharpness and great quality overall.

Lovely natural colours, and an unusual composition, where the boulders become the main source of visual interest instead of the distant view, which I guess would have attracted more average snappers! Good sky too.

Hi Kari, magnificent choice of point of view to create this "door" effect made by the rocks,a great capture with bright colors and fine details under the best sky to complete the composition,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hi Kari. Impressive boulders stand witness of earth's upheavals over the millennia. Great DOF and a soft light give the image excellent quality. Well chosen POV. Regards. Klaudio.

Very nice landscape and a unique one with Utah type red rock and earth tone, but at the sea. A nice combination. Good use of the hidden path leading out to the sea with refreshing green. Makes me want to see what is around the corner.

another hidden beauty!
These rock formations look beautiful and it was great idea to use them as a "opening"for the scene in the far distance.
I like also the color scheme with lovely, natural colors.

Very impressive boulders. I like these colours against the blue-green colours of the sea behind. You have chosen a good POV and the composition is well balanced here.

I like the rough texture and the rounded shapes of these huge boulders, the sand and mud between them and the clouds hanging quite low over the green sea. The light is very good and the colours match each other perfectly. It's a very well balanced and attractive composition.

nice the seascape view of the place with the narrow passage of huge rocks to lead-in the eye on the far end to the harbour of Townsville.Excellent the foreground light management against the grey sky above.

Very nice pov and the picture quality in terms of contrast, sharpness and dof. I like the gradual gradation of ornange, green and blue shade.

Hello Kari - I find beach boulders to be a great subject, I like their strong shapes very much. These are nicely textural and the way you have filled the frame with them highlights their solidity. The small glimpse of sea and well-figured skt completes an attractive shot.

Oh I know Lisa is going to enjoy this one the moment she views it! Its right up her alley.
smooth surfaces, golden reds and ambers, and a bit of ocean water, large clouds, not sure what else you'd want.
excellent post from Aussie Land.

I don't know how big those rocks are but they look huge! Good composition with a small peek of the ocean beyond. Good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Beautiful granotic boulders as we can find in Northern Brittany , too . I like the saturation of colors , and the contrast with the beautiful cloudy sky .

This is so unmistakably Australia. It could be nowhere else, and it reminds me a lot of the seascape in Tasmania and South Australia. Beautiful red rocks, textures and Rule of Thirds framing. The place looks so untouched and wild. Really beautiful, lucky you.
Cheers and happy weekend

I've been there a few times. Magnetic Island was laid back in the 1980's. Good sharpness and the lighting has given nice graphic elements. The small winding stream adds lead in lines and perspective. Nice view of the mainland on the horizon line between the boulders. Tfs!

This is a lovely shot. The s shape of your composition and the inherent colour contrast between the orange rock and blue sky...it all works. Nice sharpness .
