Hamersley Gorge is at the western end of Karijini National Park and is distinguished from other gorges by the incredible waves in the rocks caused by folding. I saw a couple of people diving in for a swim in one of the pools there but they didn't stay in for long - the water was very, very cold.

Lovely place with strong outback feeling. Eroded colourful rocks, fresh water and sparsely growing bushes make a good combination. Coming from Finland I find it hard to believe that water is cold.

This is a high quality picture with a fantastic subject with these rocks and small lake.
You chose a very well angle this cares for depth and perspective.
Sharpness and clarity be superb.
Excellent captured, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,

Ha! Ha! Ian, It doesn't look like a cold place, your description surprised me. The details of the folded rocks are beautifully presented, with trees for scale and water for reflections. You have a good eye for composition.
My warm regards,
I loved your comment about distances from here to Perth - a mere 1,000 kilo! That, to someone from England, sounds like a very long way! Of course, we are less familiar with taking internal flights, commonplace in such a big area!

Spectacular warm cold color contrasts between the rusty iron red cliffs and the clear blue sky with good sharpness and saturation. Nice skylight reflections in the mirror like pool. The diagonal angle of the bg cliff adds good dynamism. Tfs!
