Photographer's Note

As with most of Karijini NP's gorges the surrounding land slopes gently towards the edge. Those slopes are covered by clumps of spinifex growing in the red soil. There are also plenty of red terminte mounds like the one in this photo.
Once you get to the gorge edge you come across vertical red cliffs that drop dramatically to the gorge floor making, in most cases, for a steep walk or climb to get into the gorge.
