I wanted to see pink sunrise like on the Lisa photos, so I got up early and went to the beach in Hervey Bay but it was all in blue.
Urangan Pier is a historic pier in Urangan, Hervey Bay.
It is a former deep-water, cargo-handling facility originally built to facilitate the export of sugar, timber and coal. The pier, served by the extension of the railway line from Pialba, was used for the transfer of cargo between rail and ships. It was built between 1913 and 1917, originally to a length of 1107 metres. The pier was closed in 1985, and 239 metres of it was demolished. However, due to public outcry, 868 metres of the pier was left, and the land was handed to the Hervey Bay City Council.

it must be a little boy sunrise, instead of a little girl sunrise ;)
regardless of which color, this is a lovely pov, malgorzata ~
nice and moody, the way i most like my beaches and seascapes to be,
with interesting colors and textures in the clouds.
and the way you have shot it makes it look as if it will go on forever...
nicely seen ~

Haha I like the 'little boy sunrise' idea! Lovely serene scene and beautiful colors (I love the clouds). Would've been nice to see a figure walking in the distance perhaps. You're lucky if you live close by this pier, you could go back another day to get your pink clouds and maybe try a very low angle to get some detail of the planks in as well and have a total different feel to the same place! You must come back and show us if you do that! All the best. Lavonne

This is a stunning shot - well up to Lisa's expert standards!! :o)
Well done you for getting up early and getting out with your camera to see this beautiful sunrise and magnificent sky. Your composition is wonderfully strong with the powerful perspective of the pier leading the eye well into the frame just at the lower right crossing-point of "thirds".
The light and colours are amazing, your exposure spot-on and the details and sharpness are exquisite.

A fantastic composition, in which this gateway gives a fabulous outlook, with diagonal drain that appear together in the distance, the sky is also spectacular with the clouds as dramatic as that tone pretty blue.
Magnificent light and also very good sharpness, which allows us to see fine details.
Very well done. I love it.
Enjoy a nice day.

I thought the blue hour was towards the evening, but maybe it's the other way around down under. This is very blue, with just a little trace of yellow on one cloud. The pier seems to go on forever, or at least right up to the horizon. Did you walk all the way to see what was on the other side? Anyway you placed the pier very well, starting from the corners and ending one third from the right.

Masterful and disciplined work here Malgo. I like the blue tones and your excellent use of perspective with the pier stretching to infinity. Impressive! Warm regards Rosemary

znakomity punkt widzenia i perspektywa prowadzaca nasz wzrok wzdluz mola.

haha...blues not pinks!
oh well, what can you do right?
I have to say though Malgo, this is one of your best photos! I absolutely LOVE it.
the long fading-out-bridgedeck is superb!!!
and the atmospheric clouds work so well too.

The blue is just as beautiful. I seem to see pinks more in the afternoon here on the East Coast. But your photo is wonderful. I like the slightly off-centre perspective, the converging lines and the texture of the wooden walkway which leads the eye towards that lovely horizon. How early did you have to wake up for this one? Well done!
annjackman (18983) 2013-07-18 22:31
This may be mostly blue but it is still very attractive. I like the perspective and sharp, clean lines of the pier that seems to go on forever! An excellent viewpoint and expertly taken.
Kind Regards, Ann

A well balanced composition with all these straight lines. The clouds are well captured and all colours are in a very pleasant harmony.

I love blue at the morning and in sunsets, is cold and smart
Good for you to get up early and obtain such a nice blue hour
Love the composition and capture of the pier going so long in the sea, there is some similar in Buenos Aires for fishers

a topnotch work on both light&color management and pov for perspective.

No need to be disappointed in the lack of pink, the shades of blue have taken center stage and made for a delightful display in its own right. Now, I have to admit, with it being my favorite color I might be a bit biased. :) No matter, this is a smashing visual, the perspective of the pier seems to go on forever, and has been smartly placed off center for even more of an overall visual impact. This appears to be calming and quiet, and another nice way to start any day if you ask me! The simplicity of the scene actually speaks volumes to the atmosphere...great moment conveyed! Thanks for the view. Have a great day ahead.
Friendly wishes from the U.S.,

I've been lazy for a while and haven't looked at any photos or uploaded any. My trip to UK and Europe made me tired of all things connected with cameras for a while. But I met with Klaudio the other day and he made me feel I ought to get back into it.
I like this shot very much - it's not only big and sharp, but has a great perspective along the pier, and a marvellous Aussie sky. There is a much longer pier in Bussellton in Western Australia, but I don't think you went there. You certainly succeeded in making this one seem to go on forever. Nice work in the early morning.
I trust you are well and now enjoying some summer warmth.
josepmarin (57693) 2013-07-21 12:32
the perspective of this pier is absolutely fantastic, and provides a great depth to the image.
I love the cloudy atmosphere of this sunrise, and I believe to see a rain curtain in background.
A beautiful and powerful work.
See you soon

Hi Malgo !!!
none is complaining about the fact that there is no pink sky..... and that is because the photo is beautiful as it is..... a nice gamut of blue is just right and conveys the feeling of an early morning.
Good composition with the pier off centre.
Have a nice week end.
Cheers from Moss Vale

Ciao e buon fine settimana
