We had stopped for a meal at Euroa ,an agricultural district which is noted for its fine wool production and thoroughbred horse industry,it`s located half-way between Seymour and Benalla at the foot of the Strathbogie Ranges in Victoria.
It was there that I was lucky to meet Mr Cummins aged 92 an Aussie through and through, who was happy to recall the history of the area and share tales of the High Country where he had spent all his working life.

An interesting portrait shot. The soft lights and colors added more attraction. Great clarity, superb composition and excellent contrast you captured. Very well done.

A man with a lived-in face, no doubt about it. Great close-up portrait, well lit with good colours and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

An interesting story and a very fine portrait of this elderly gentleman.
Your picture would certainly be of interest to a dermatologist as it demonstrates perfectly how white skin suffers so badly in the strong direct sunlight of the Antipodes! But I guess this man has been around for many years and has probably spent most of his life outdoors.
A delightful portrait of this man in which we can appreciate his happy demeanour, very well taken with good management of the light on his face and excellent detail and sharpness in his features against a very nicely out of focus background.

Hello Leslie - This is a marvellous portrait and your sitter looks to be a very fine character. My goodness though, his skin shows the ravages of a life lived outdoors in the baking sun. I love the twinkle in his eye and can easily imagine him being a bit of a lad in this youth! Top class work.Warm regards Rosemary

stunning portrait this and a study that extols the virtues of high factor sunscreens, I think. At 92 he has seen it all and was probably out in the hot sun for a good 40 years before sunscreens were invented. An amazing character with a real lived in face. Powerful imagery!
Regards - Brian.

The years have taken their toll on this gentleman's face, but there is a brightness of his eyes that indicates a crystal clear mind. You have portrayed him very well from a good POV. The exposure is perfect and the colors of the blurred backgroud match the man and his clothes very nicely.

What a wonderful photo! We do not often see portraits from you, so this is a special treat and also of a very high quality. You didn't even need to tell me this old battler was an Aussie. Wow, look at that skin, the harsh Aussie sun has not been kind to him, with what looks like a few skin cancers on his face. There's something very wry about him, there's a light behind his eyes and you can tell this old boy has a great sense of humour, despite a hard life. Wonderful shot, you've captured him superbly. And given that this is ANZAC Day today, very apt.

a captivating portrait, very vivid both in terms of definition and mood. You must have captured Mr Cummins during a vigorous conversation and, besides his aspect, you've excellently rendered his temperament too. I love the 3D effect, the remarkable sharpness and the wonderful rendering of colours that have made this portrait look extremely natural; you almost expect him to move! Lighting is most effective and the glint in his eyes is priceless. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,
