Photographer's Note
Yesterday was Anzac Day in Australia, also known as Veteran's Day in the USA, & Remembrance Day (November 11) in some other countries. 'Anzac' is: Australian & New Zealand Army Corps.
I had a 12 hour power blackout here yesterday from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am this morning, so couldn't upload it on the day as I would have liked. Taken in King's Park Perth, with the Swan River below at left.
This particular memorial commemorates the Western Australian soldiers who fought in World War I, (1914-1918), and also, most soldiers from the eastern states enroute to Gallipoli in Turkey, stopped at Albany first. For many, it was to be their last view of Australia, forever.
In addition to Gallipoli, many Australians fought in France & Belgium. The French in Villers-Bretonneux were true to their promise, never to forget their liberation by Australian & British troops from Germany, in World War 1, & every year since, have commemorated their freedom. More info here:

Bonjour, cher Chris,
Ne pas oublier ! rendre hommage à nos aïeux à travers cette composition est un honneur !
La date de publication n'est pas bien grave (de plus, il s'agit d'une panne électrique).
Merci, Chris, de cet hommage.
Amitiés.

Hi Chris,
The tight frame is putting the monument in evidence. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the War Memorial. The afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Un ciel d'un bleu impérial, Chris,
de quoi bien balancer la chaleur des teintes des pierres sous un soleil déjà bas.
Une photo nette et parfaitement cadrée.
Des blancs bien balancés.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hello Chris,
a wonderful picture of the simple memorial commemorating the soldiers that fought in very distant lands, suffered and lost a lot, so many made the ultimate sacrifice so far away from home. They've surely gained great respect all over the world. Your photo is very well composed and lit with the brilliant side light. It also has great depth and brings into the theme the world and daily life that always go on at the side of History. Well done and thank you!
All the best,
Ourania
