I have had my previous closeup of a begonia deleted, so I shall try again with a more substantial note.My intention was to complement my previous shot and show you why so many people were taking photos of these perfect flowers.
Ballarat’s Famous Begonia Festival
Ballarat’s conservatory has 240 varieties of begonias, 46 have mixed colours, with the most common colour being pink, followed by orange. Pure white is the least common.
Only three varieties are perfumed.
Every year a colourful spectacle is designed by the head gardener of the City of Ballarat and the flowers are selected and installed by the nursery team before the conservatory doors are opened for the public in early March.
In workshop you can see the conservatory whose design by Peter Elliot was inspired by the Japanese paper folding technique of Origami.
The building has a computer controlled heating and cooling system, but all plants are hand watered to suit the varying water requirements of each.
I shall also put in workshop an example of a cascading begonia. The one featured is of the large upright variety.
The photo is dedicated to Cagla Hanim who has told me that begonias are one of her favourite flowers.

Hi Klaudio, let's hope that with this interesting and comprehensive note it will survive. Wonderful pink begonias, look like roses. It must be wonderful view. Nice worksop phioto with this new conservatory. In the fiorst row there are cosmos bipinnatus flowers, I love them. A nd they grow on every continent, high and low (I suppose, I do not know about Africa).
have a nice day

Nice shot for a change.
Excellent macro, a little beauty of such a delightful colour in this begonia.. You have captured the colour, detail and texture in the petals so well. Love the fabulous tones and colours which are very true-to life and impressive. Beautiful begonia, beautifully captured and presented. This is such a nice way to cheer me up!
Lovely work, Klaudio.

Merhaba klaudio, I'm really honored with this beautiful flower. It is grace and looks noble , I wish we could have the same kind of begonias here in Bursa but ours which I grow in my garden are different, they are also nice but this one is wonderful. Maybe your shot made it look so wonderful, it is very sharp and vivid, though the colors are pale pinky. Hvala vam again..
