Photographer’s Note
Wreck Beach.
Between King Island (further south, just north of Tasmania) and Cape Otway, the Southern Ocean has played havoc with ships since Europeans began to sail this part of the world. The strong currents, gales, waves, swells and fogs have caused many to founder on what is now known as the Shipwreck Coast. Wreck Beach still has the remains of a number of ships, till they too, disappear forever due to the elements.
Marie Gabrielle anchors, from a shipwreck in 1869. An iron anchor and part of the capstan from the French barque are located near Moonlight Head. This ship was on route from China with a load of tea when it hit the reef after being forced ashore by strong winds.

Hi Santo,
I like the close foreground and the strong DOF, it works well. Those fisheye lens can see from one inch to infinity and stay sharp all the way through.
Good job on the sky, it looks terrific.
Lisa told me how you got the Fisheye, I better buy some rubber gloves and lots of tea towels.
Have a good weekend.
Cheers
Peter

Santo,Love the low angle, colour, and composition. The rockpool so clear,I have done this shot myself, as we live close.Your shot leaves mine way behind, but makes me want to go and try again. (Just remembered the steps back up !!!)

Hi Santo
Brilliant, unbelievable composition with the anchor in the FG and the reflection in mirror smooth rock pool, makes the anchor look complete. Beautifully captured with realistic colours, great DOF and contrast.

Ciao Caro Santo, che una foto! Great reflection, jeez you're getting good at spotting and capturing these reflections that seem like a looking glass. I like the low POV and the absolute DOF. Great job, enjoy your weekend, Lisa.

Hello Santo,
Very clever idea to shoot such a beautiful scene. The composition with so colorful piece of shipwreck is simply excellent. The colors, light and photographic quality are unbelievable. I wonder, how you could get such depth of focus, when both FG (almost macro) and the distant BG are so sharp. Absolutely professional job!

Hello Santo,
this is really my favourite genre: a superb seascape with a dramatic sky and a evokative composition with this old and rusted anchor in fg and all those fine small ponds. I like the great DOF and the sense of perspective, the reflection and transparency of the water.
I place where I'd spend a lovely afternoon...
TFS,
Donato

Hi Santo: You have picked up the subject really well with the reflection on these puddles. The green moss or lichen making fine contrasting details. The moody sky is just brilliant in this well kept perspective. Best regards. Jusni

Hello Santo,
This is an interesting reminder of the enormous powers of the elements. The rusty old anchor is becoming part of nature, almost undistinguishable from the mossy rocks. The dark clouds and the threatening surf in the background give us an idea of the dangers waiting for the seafarers. A well chosen POV and as always technically immaculate.
Kind regards,
Gert

Santo,
This is brilliant and what ever you have used for distortion correction is excellent. Perspective and the angle of view is good here. I'd be interesting to know where the rest of the ship is? congrats on putting the first picture from Moonlight Head.
Cheers

PS: the tuesday may be a bit difficult, there is a bunch of other people meeting up at luna park on friday (incl me and Peter my FIL) at about 7 if you are interested?

Hi Santo,
I wonder if this was taken with the fisheye as the distortion is no way near to those horrific portrait shots;) but I also recall this was the only lens you mounted on the camera for the whole time we were there.
Photoshop or not, I think the result is extremely admirable, good naturally saturated colour, no harsh shadows with the overcast sky, perfect reflection and plenty of FG details and I like the green moss. I regret that I did not consider this POV looking back to the land which is far more interesting than the misty ocean and waves. I can't think of anything better to post than this. You beat me again! Well done
Regards
Alfred
Ps. I think I will let you post the penguin first...:)

Hello Santo,
A rough coastline no doubt!
Even on a day like this we get the feeling from the dark clouds and rolling surf...
The old anchor is an eye-catcher, rusty and beaten by wind and weather!
A well framed view where the green sea plants offer colour contrast...
Greetings,

Hello Santo
The old rusty anchor blends in so well with nature from the thumbnail I thought it was nature - that is a snake! Your post processing work is excellent and almost bizarre! Tfs, Marlene
