Photographer’s Note
On our recent visit to the former gold mining town of Grenfell we wandered down George St which early on was the main street. Unfortunately a fire burnt most of the early buildings down and the main street shifted up one block to what became Main Street.
One of the remaining early buildings is the Odd Fellows Hall dating from 1878 these days with a beautifully weathered facade with blotches of burgundy red on the upper parts and other old buildings on either side.

Hi Ian,
Great shot. The old building looks like it has seen better days but it has so much character, amazing it is still standing when you look at the date on the front, 1878, now that's old. In fact the building to the right looks to be of about the same vintage.
Just a thought, I think cropping the building on the left would have helped the shot, only seeing such a small part of it, for me, detracts from the centre peice of your composition.
Lovely feeling you've captured of the town, well done.
Regards
Peter

Hi Ian,
a splendid shot of these old buildings with attractive composition, the colours and lights are very nice, I like the graphic details and the nostalgic mood. Have a nice week!

Ian,
At first glance, I thought this was from the American west. Nice composition using a great angle to create depth and direction. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has excellent sharpness. The deep blue sky proivdes a great backdrop for the scene.

hello Ian
Oddfellows hall is certainly full of character - and again rust abounds. Your CP filter has worked well. Tfs, Marlene
