Photographer’s Note
Over to Central Australia tonight.
The majestic desert oaks (a casuarina for those into plant species) survives in incredibly dry settings but like so many plants in the Australian deserts thrives as soon as there is any rain. This photo (scanned from a negative) was taken on the way to Uluru but I'm not sure exactly where but it must have been near to the national park.
You can see by the shadows that it was taken in the middle of the day so I assume that I probably used a polarising filter (it was 20 years ago!). It was taken beside the road on a cutting through a sand dune.

Wow this is a bright composition Ian - looks like a painting. The details are all sharp and clear. The sky is not perfect but this is where any damage in scanned images will be seen. Tfs, Marlene

Hello Ian,
What stands out most in this picture are the intense colors and the contrast between them. From red to blue, through green. Simple and attractive composition.
Best regards,
Charo

Ciao Ian,
a beautiful compo, the diagonal and the tree I like that he cuts against the blue sky, pity for the low quality. I have made a ws.

Good evening Ian,
This image digitized has superb colors. I like much the harmony of the three colors, the red, the green, and the blue, which are particularly bright. The tree contrasts surprisingly on the sky. Cheer.
Have a nice day
Cordially
