Photographer’s Note
The large granite rock is commonly known as Whale rock, for obvious reasons. On this morning I found it beneath moon.
The southernmost point of the Australian mainland, Wilsons Promontory (affectionately known to Victorians as 'the Prom') is arguably the most loved national park in Victoria. Its 130 km coastline is framed by granite headlands, mountains, forests and fern gullies. Tidal River, 30 km inside the park boundary, is the focus for tourism and recreation. The park contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria.
Along the northern bank of Tidal River are some large granite boulders. The orange colouration is caused by lichen growing on the rock.

HI Stephen
Nice nature image with a beautiful reflection in the still water, as always contrast is better in the reflected part
have a nice day JY

Hi Steve,
Great colours and sharpness and marvellous reflections. The moon isn't large but it does make the sky more interesting.
This would have looked great upside-down too.

Gert

Hi Steve, there is perfect symmetry in this photo. It reminds me of those painted collages we did as kids in school. The reflection is like glass, the image is lovely and sharp, the depth great and that moon (can't decide if it's icing on the cake or you just showing off :) Thanks for sharing and I hope your Long Weekend's been a good one, Lisa.

Hello Steve, Nice colour, contrast & light in this image but I guess it's that mirror like reflection that creates most of the interest, with the moon looking to share a little of the limelight. These shots from the Prom have stirred my interest in the area.
Thanks

Hello steve,
What interest me is the near perfect reflection which create the symmetrical image of the rock and trees. The light makes the tree trunks and branches punch out calling for attention. The moon is a real bonus. A first classed photo.

Hi Steve.
Also a great picture, looking at the whale rock from further away. The river water is so still, and the blue tone at the bottom is superb - JY's comment is spot on about reflected sky. The morning light is superbly illuminating.
Regards,
Andrew
