Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken with my new fisheye lens, a gift from my wife, well not exactly a gift I earnt it, 12 months of -------- if you are interested look at the WS version.
Mornington Pier
Mornington Pier was first built in the 1850's allowing holiday makers from the city access via steamships, it provided safe anchorage for vessels carrying produce to the Melbourne markets. Today the pier is enjoyed by locals and tourists alike, with fishing lines being cast during all kinds of weather, the pier is perfect for a stroll to take in the views across the bay and Mornington foreshore.
Waited and waited then bang it jumped, took my bait, my 6’6”ugly stick with & the 6 pound line began to jerk, it fought for 45 min till I finally got him on the pier. Four fishermen and only 1 starfish and a puffer fish to show for it. ...what a day.
Taken in the company of Alfred (alftrek} and Bill (trekks)

... Che giornata.

Hello Santo,
It looks like this fish out of water has adapted itself to its new surroundings: the spots on its scales compared with the small dark stones on the grey road.
Nevertheless it didn't survive this adaption.
I certainly hope the dishwasher is doing better.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Santo,
Taking a shot of the dead fish eye with your fisheye! Excellent colours and sharpness here. This lens is full of surprises and I know there will be more to come. The look in the dishwasher's eyes is so hilarious.

Hi Santo, humorous use for your new lens, a fisheye through a fisheye. Great sharpness & colour on the subject. Interesting bokeh effects in the BG. cheers, Steve

Ciao Caro Santo, come divertente, ho riso troppo. The things we do for our photographic equipment. This photo is inventive, colourful and beautifully sharp. I love the title and everything about it makes me smile (except the fact that the poor fish has no doubt met his maker). The Workshop is hilarious. You look very meek there Mr Dishwasher. I thought we might have seen you in the "David" apron, but this one works well too. Ti auguro una bella settimana, mangero un cannoli di ricotta per voi ancora una volta :) Un abbraccio, Lisa.

Hello Santo,
This is a most appealing picture with an amusing title and an interesting history. That red eye and those yellow lips are fascinating. A quite original picture for TE.

Hi Santo,
I had to smile to myself when I saw the photo in WS! The pinafore you are wearing bears witness of heavy duty in the kitchen! But it obviously paid off, the result is worth all your efforts. I have never seen such a beautiful portrait of a fish before, and it is a shame that he also ended up in the kitchen. Great photo work in every sense!
Warm regards

Ciao Santo,
come stai amico?
Simpatico questo pesciolino :)) Incredibile il colore della sua pelle come si mimitizza con il colore del molo su cui è poggiato.
Ho visto il WS. Sei forte davvero :))
Un caro saluto!

Hi Santo
This is so funny. A fisheye with a fisheye. The details are excellent as is the bokeh. The curved painted-like horizon is very original. Not a bad present for dishwashing.

Ciao caro Santo,
Ciao, un abbraccio a tutti!

Hi Santo,
I share your anger at these little fish always taking the bait. Seems that they infest our whole coastline, north to south. I like the limited DOF allowing for the focus to be squarely put on this puffer's mouth and eye, with a bit of foreground concrete also. The blue-green background created by the fisheye lens makes for an almost cartoonish backdrop, I like the effect. Great sharpness and a fine frame also.

Hello Santo,
You're lucky you only have to do dishes for your lenses...know what I mean!
I love this ORIGINAL idea; its quirky and great though the pp is a bit much for my liking. I actually would like to see the original. Great take.

Those are the only ones that are never to be returned to the water. We can find them in any pier/fishing place. The fish eye worked very well in showing his eye and lips. Well done.

Hi Santo.
Great shot and apposite title! I was wondering if that shot of a mushroom was going to appear here.
Amazing how little DOF you get with this lens, perhaps the aperture was very wide because of the very gloomy weather. Anyway, it's very sharp where it counts. Colours are great. You've just about got me convinced of the many interesting things you can do with this kind of lens, but can I afford one? Especially as a normal wide zoom is next on my list.

Andrew

Hello Santo,
Ahhh poor little thing, this guy doesn't look his best anymore!
But now he is immortal and known to the world, at least that is something...
The fisheye effect is notable and the lens draws colours and details nicely, now it is up to you to learn all the tricks..!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Santo,
Artistic composition. Great colours. Nice sharpness. I like how the stones in the concrete path stand out.
I would say you may have earned some more lenses than the fisheye after 12 months of that work but I cannot say that because someone in my household may then lodge a similar claim against me for the previous 12 months of doing the same work :(
Very well earned gift :-)
Kind regards,
Graham.

Good close up of the puffer in his last breaths. Great texture, congratulations! Or is he dead already? So the subject of this photo may well be the broder between the two worlds - here and beyond!
