Photographer’s Note
ENGLISH: This photo was taken at sunset from the rockpool at Fairy Bower, Manly. Manly is the most southern of the Northern Beaches and situated about 10 kilometres from Sydney centre. It is most easily accessed by ferry. In the background you can see many of the other Northern Beaches: Queenscliff, Freshwater, Curl Curl and Dee Why.
The name "Manly" was first used by Captain Cook who upon seeing the native aboriginals here, remarked upon their masculine physique.

Hi Lisa, I like the dark tones in this image and the light is nicely balances with the GND. Is that a tilt on the horizon though? cheers, Steve

Hi Lisa,
Great POV and composition, the sculpture set against that mauve sky looks fantastic.
I love all the twinkling lights in the background. That long exposure has done marvelous things to the water, it looks so silky smooth.
You obviously had a plan and it has worked a treat, good stuff.
This capture is so good I'm not even going to mention the tilting horizon.
Warm regards
Peter

Hello Lisa,
The rather curious looking statuary makes an interesting silhouette against the sea behind. The exposure is very well managed, you have known how to retain the detail throughout the image without experiencing any areas of over-exposure. The long exposure turns the water to glass. Not something I have really practised, I'm impressed.

Hi Lisa,
Another finely exposed and composed long shutter-speed shot. I do think the horizon is off a bit, leaning to the left if you look at the water-line. Another interesting place in NSW you have shown us, and another great piece of information. I thought Manly would have been the name of a person, but no - Captain Cook was a little more straight-forward than that!
Have a great Sunday!

hi Lisa
Yes, it does appear like dancing. I like your composition of placing them just below the horizon [which I think may have escaped your notice and is CCW tilted]. Nice color tone of the evening light.
Good work.

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the long exposure club ;-)
Looks good those 30 sec. Makes the water real silky, very smooth which keeps our focus on the statue and the city in the background. I like those stars on the coast, but also the sky above. Only thing is the small tilt on the horizon...the last detail to take care about next time ;-)

Henk

Hi Lisa,
My left foot also went wet looking at it, but you know this already, for the rest I like it a lot, very zen, a closer vertical framing would work well too.
Have a nice day jY

Ciao Lisa,
come stai?

Ciao Lisa, Bellissima, light, colours, sharpness, composition all look just about perfect to me, I don't think I could find a fault even if I wanted. You have produced a truly beautiful image with a perfect title. So that's is where gets it name from, we learn something new everyday, Thanks, Complimenti.
Un caro saluto
Santo.
PS I wonder would it have been possible to get all the sculpture's reflection in, not that it needs it.
